Wedded Bliss Wednesday

Let's talk MAN fashion!

What is your husband's style?
D is pretty simple.
He works at a bank so during the weeks it's dress pants & ties.
He likes to wear the occasional vest.
Since he has the dark complection going he wears a lot of bright colors which I LOVE :)
The weekends he is a jeans (BKE "Derek" Jeans to be exact, I bought him his first pair when we started dating & now he will wear nothing else. hehe) and t shirt or jeans and polo kinda guy.
Hottie!

What is your LEAST favorite piece(s) of his wardrobe?
I wold have to say those damn flat billed hats!
59/50? Ugh they are the worst.
& this AWFUL hat he has from when he was in tball!
Yes you read that right.. TBALL!
Cute kids, ugly hat!

What would you love for your man to wear?
I actually, most of the time, like the way he dresses. :)
Probably because I buy most of it for him.
Two of my favorite handsomely dressed men..
the husband and baby brother :)

So I tried two new recipes today that hopefully my husband will enjoy.
D is a VERY picky eater. Cooking for him is actually extemely difficult.
He likes nothing. No beans, no veggies, no fish, nothing with mayo or ranch..
Basically meat and potatoes.
Well let me tell you that is boring. I came from a home where we tried all different types of foods.
For a good portion of my younger years we were vegetarians. I enjoy tofu, veggie burgers, almost all vegetables, fruits.. etc.
So now that I am trying to cook a little healthier for myself it's making it virtually impossible to also make dishes that D will enjoy.

So today I tried "Healthy Apple Pie Bites" (these I am sure he will like)
& Cauliflower crust Hawaiian Pizza (this I am not so sure about)

The Apple Pie Bites were very simple

Ingredients:
Creseant Rolls (I used the reduced fat kind)
Apples
Cinnamon
& Stevia
Take the apple and slice.
Place inside the creseant rolls.. sprinkle with cinnamon and stevia roll up & bake @375 for 11 mins.
THEY ARE DELICIOUS.
I am sure the hubs will love them.

(not my picture, stole from pinterest)

Now the cauliflower crust pizza I am not so sure about.
I made a hawaiian bbq pizza (I have lots of ham left over from Thanksgiving)
& you can find that recipe here
Cauliflower Pizza Crust

So we shall see.
Have a great Tuesday!

Okay so I am still not on top of this whole blogging thing, but I am working on it.
So here is a little catch up on what's going on right now..

I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of Christmas.
I ADORE the holidays.
The decorating, baking, family time, food, giving.. ALL OF IT
Not to mention I am slightly obsessed with wrapping paper & it's everywhere right now!
So I am not going to lie, I have already decorated.. just a little bit.

I am also eagerly looking forward to hosting my first Thanksgiving dinner!
I am so excited to cook. (That's how I know I am getting old)
It's going to be small, just my MIL, husband, myself, BIL, and his girlfriend, and my precious nephew. & possibly the husbands grandparents stopping by and maybe a friend and her boyfriend?
But I have to start somewhere.
I've also decided we are doing a thanksgiving ham rather than turkey.
I know it's not "tradition" but frankly turkey kinda grosses me out & the husband prefers ham.
Also on the menu: mashed potatoes and gravy, corn casserole, green bean casserole, and PUMPKIN PIE POPS! I will probably add a few more things. But I am really trying not to go overboard, which is something I tend to do.

I've also been working like crazy & so has the hubs. It will be so nice to spend a couple days together.
So that's all for now. I will make sure to take tons of pictures & update on how everything is going.
xoxox kj!

CHILDHOOD EXPECTATIONS OF MARRIAGE!
1. When you were a child what did you imagine YOUR Prince Charming to be like?
Like something from Disney movie, ie Prince Eric or Prince Charming from Cinderella.
2. Does you husband match your prediction as a child?
Yes, he is tall, dark, and very handsome. Hehe. Ofcourse I grew up and realized life is not a Disney movie, but D is my prince charming.
3. What about when you were a teenager and knew it all about love, does you relationship match that scenario you had during those rebel years?
Definitely not. I would have never thought I would be a married woman by now. You could not have convinced me that I would be married anytime before the age of 30. But boy oh boy did that change, for the best, but it's still surprising to me & all of my high school friends.
4. What love movie would you best match your relationship to? Why?
Honestly I can't think of one? I am hoping it's something like the Notebook. Although cliche I think it's one of the sweetest love stories out there. Especially since my Nana passed away from complications with Altzheimers, so I have the fear that I will get it too & I just hope D could handle it well & remind me and make me fall in love with him again each and every day.

Next week let's talk
CHILDHOOD EXPECTATIONS OF MARRIAGE!
1. When you were a child what did you imagine YOUR Prince Charming to be like?
2. Does you husband match your prediction as a child?
3. What about when you were a teenager and knew it all about love, does you relationship match that scenario you had during those rebel years?
4. What love movie would you best match your relationship to? Why?
So I guess I haven't really told my much about us..
Where to start.

I am a 20 something, hairstylist living in the great little state of Indiana.
The Mr. is also 20 something (4 months older than me), banker, again living in the great little state of Indiana.
We met 3.5 years ago at a job. I had just taken a semester off of college (little did I know I wouldn't go back) & he worked there. We met in July, but didn't start "talking" till September. To tell you the truth I actually couldn't stand him. Before he talked I thought he was a hottie, but once he started talking to me I was annoyed. Hehe Let me elaborate. We worked in a competitive, goal driven atmosphere & both D and I are VERY competitive. So each day he would come to my cubicle and see where I was at and if he was doing better than be he would tease me and rub it in my face (looking back I supposed this was his form of flirting). I didn't like it.
This went on for a few months. He was transferred departments, but I had to walk by his cubicle to get to the breakroom, bathroom, etc so he would continue to taunt me & make me stop and talk to him. Finally, in September he asked me to lunch & the rest is history. We have been together ever since. :)
A year and a half after we started dating he proposed.
Right after we got engaged @ our favortite steakhouse.
Whooaaa I am a little over the top tan & a little too bleached out hair (thank you cosmetology school)

& a year and a half after that we were married.
Our First Kiss :)

Of course there is a little more to the story than that, but that's something I will get into later.

Currently we live in a house that we purchased last June.
Just a little 3 bedroom, but perfect for us now.
We have three furry babies.
Maleah: our pride and joy, a white lab.

Franklin: a little rat dog D had before we met, that's won a spot in my heart.

& Daisy: a pit bull we rescued from a local shelter, quite the troublemaker, but we still love her!

& now we are just settling into the life of being husband and wife.
& that's why I have decided to blog. I want to remember these times.
I want to look back at our young married life and laugh, smile, and remember.

to be cont.. :)
